Raaga is the Specialty of Indian classical music and Raag Bhupali is one of them. It is basic and beautiful raag of Indian music. For instance, People have a different personality, similarly Every Raaga has its own identity and introduction. It has a combination of 5 notes as “SA RE GA PA DHA SA”.
MA and NI are not being used in this Raaga. Most of the Bhakti Ras songs are found in this Raga. Bhoopali is a Poorvang Pradhaan Raaga and the chalan of this Raaga is mostly happens in Mandra Saptak (Lower octave) and Madhya Saptak (middle Octave). Five notes of this Raaga are similar to Pentatonic scale in western music.
Mohanam is close Raaga in Carnatic and Deshkar in north Indian music. But Deshkar and Bhoopali, Both the Raagas has the same notes but the different chalan.
